PANTO IS BACK!!!!!! After 18 long months of Covid lockdowns, shutdowns and losses, The Queen’s Theatre is certainly happy to open the door to their panto. The audience accompany Aladdin on an exciting ride across the plains of Egypt, there are exciting tales told and lots of fun to be had.

The staging is amazing and it’ll be shocking, we don’t want to give away the amazing props that are hidden away but each scene is a massive laugh and definitely not something you’d find in the disney cartoon.

The actors and actresses certainly return to top form; Aaron Teoh does a fantastic job of bringing you on his journey as Aladdin, Alex Wadham plays the great dane as Betty Bagwash and keeps us laughing and shouting throughout the show, Dominic Gee-Burch did the great job of being the evil villian Björn Nastee, Lucy Keirl was particularly stunning at the genie of the lamp and Elliot Mackenzie & Emma Jane Morton kept the action going with as the Constables. Some of my favourite scenes involved the freezing of the constables, was brilliant how they could hold a pose

My 6 and 10 year olds both absolutely loved the night and the night kept them on their toes. They completely joined in with the action on stage, yelling at the characters whenever they could.

You might think that you know the Aladdin story from the Disney movies but the panto has audience interaction, modern props and it’s not worried about drifting away from the Aladdin story for comic purposes. I’d highly recommend you go see this soon, the theatre is quickly running out of seats
