Following on from their recent critically-acclaimed production of Hairspray, the Brookside Theatre is currently looking for talented local male performers including a young performer to join their cast of ELF THE MUSICAL this December.

Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema hit starring Will Ferrell, ELF THE MUSICAL is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

And singing is exactly what you would need to do if you want to join the cast of this high-energy family show.

The theatre is looking for a talented young male performer (aged 8-12) with an unchanged singing voice, strong acting and dancing skills and the ability to do an American accent to play the pivotal role of Michael Hobbs, Buddy’s 12 year old brother.

Harri Sepple, the theatre’s choreographer says ‘The role of Michael is a fantastic part for any young actor to step up to. Not only will they be challenged and nurtured but also they will get the opportunity to work with some amazingly experienced performers and glean from their skills and experience. This really is a wonderful opportunity for any aspiring young performer.’

The theatre is also looking for male actors (aged 30+) with good vocals to play several supporting roles within the production.

The show runs from 10 – 23 December 2021 and rehearsals are weekday evenings and Sunday daytimes at the theatre in Romford.
