Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch are thrilled to announce the cast and creatives for their upcoming production of Dick Whittington, playing from 23 November – 31 December 2023. As a beloved annual tradition, a QTH pantomime is always a firm family favourite that is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

Firstly, the Theatre are delighted to announce that this year’s dame, Sherrie Trifle, will be played by returning audience-favourite, Dominic Gee-Burch. Dominic starred as Dame Super Nanny in last year’s award-winning panto Sleeping Beauty. In 2022, he also played Mr Lucas and Mr Scruton in Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ the Musical. He was the infamous Björn Nastee in 2021’s pantomime Aladdin, and part of the live skiffle band in One Man, Two Guvnors, co-produced by Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and Derby Theatre. Dominic’s first appearance in Hornchurch was six years ago as part of the company of Sell a Door’s Footloose the Musical.

Also returning this year are Elliot Mackenzie, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical (UK Tour); Laura Sillett, Dreamboats and Petticoats (UK No.1 Tour); and Hannah Woodward, The Wizard of Oz, (Hartlepool Borough Hall).

There are some new faces joining as part of the amazingly talented actor-musician cast too. Michali Dantes will be playing Dick Whittington and is delighted to be making his professional debut at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. Priscille Grace joins as Meowly the Cat, Reputation (The Other Palace), and completing the cast are Sorrel Jordan, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical (UK Tour) and Ewan Ling, Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story (UK Tour).

Dick Whittington is written by Andrew Pollard, directed by Vik Sivalingam, with original music and lyrics by Tom Self, set and costume design by Katie Lias, lighting design by Stephen Pemble, sound design by Chris Drohan and choreography by Lucinda Brereton. The consulting producer is Caroline Leslie, the QTH Creative Director is Aisling Gallagher, and the executive producer is Mathew Russell. The casting directors are Debbie O’Brien & Sophia Lewis.

Join plucky Dick Whittington and his trusty cat on their quest for fame and fortune. Arriving in London, disaster strikes, as the streets aren’t paved with gold, but overrun with rats unleashing hell across the city. So as Dick sets out on exciting escapades far afield, he’s going to need more than the help of Cherry and joyful cook Sherrie Trifle if he’s to fulfil his magical destiny to become Mayor of London!

Hot on the heels of last year’s record-breaking Sleeping Beauty, winner of the Off West End 2023 Best Pantomime award, this festive sparkling favourite with side-splitting jokes, fabulous actor-musician musicality and traditional mayhem, is guaranteed to delight all ages!

Everyone can enjoy this Christmas treat with QTH offering several access performances; an audio described performance on Saturday 9 December at 2pm, a British Sign Language interpreted performance on Saturday 9 December at 6.30pm, a Dementia Friendly performance on Thursday 14 December at 1.30pm, and a Relaxed (SEN/Autism Friendly) performance on Thursday 14 December at 5.30pm.
