The Dagenham Invincibles were a women’s football team from Dagenham, Essex, UK, who played during World War I. The team were known for their unbeaten record over two seasons

Especially now with the return to women’s football ‘The Invincibles’ was an incredible night and it really had us cheering the team all the way, understanding how football has changed many people’s lives.

There were some amazing cast, who often felt like key athletes: Gemma Barnett (Gladys), Georgia Bruce (Ada), Simon Darwen (Cholly), Yanexi Enriquez (Maya), Emma Feeney (Sammy/Hannah), Rebecca Hayes (Trixie), Nikita Johal (Maud), Eleanor Kane (Nell), Steve Simmonds (James)

Amanda Whittington’s writing captured the essence of East London, and I couldn’t help but feel thrilled whenever they mentioned a familiar town or road. The history of women’s football in Essex is a fascinating one, and it was disheartening to learn about its temporary ban between 1921 and 1971

If you’re looking for a great night out, I highly recommend seeing this show. It’s not just about football – it’s a celebration of the incredible women who paved the way for today’s players, and it’s sure to inspire audiences of all ages. Even my 11-year-old daughter loved it, so I’m confident it will appeal to a wide range of people.
