Local resident, Claire Bloomfield, has recently published her first book. The book is called ‘It’s my turn now: A journey Towards Freedom’ and documents Claire’s highs and lows and the experiences and accomplishments that have shaped her as a person.

Claire was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was just 18 months old and has faced many barriers throughout her life.

Claire said “I am over the moon to have recently published my first book. It’s a massive achievement for anybody and one that am particularly proud of and would never have imagined not so very long ago.

Experience has taught me that life is worth living and I am now living life to the full. I hope that the book will inspire others who have lost hope or feel as though life has got the better of them.”

The book is available on Amazon and Claire will be signing copies at her book launch on Thursday, 16 September at the YMCA in Romford; a particularly pertinent location as the charity has played a big part in Claire’s journey over the years and is still an important part of her life today.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and Claire will be signing books at the YMCA in Rush Green Road, Romford from 11.00am – 2.00pm.
