The Brookside Theatre, Romford is looking for talented young performers for their exciting summer production, SCHOOL OF ROCK – THE MUSICAL.

Auditions will be held on Sunday 9th July 2023 at the theatre in Romford.

Based on the 2003 movie, SCHOOL OF ROCK tells the story of Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn extra money by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, Dewey turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can Dewey get them to the “Battle of the Bands” without their parents and the school’s leadership finding out? With music by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, the show features 14 new songs as well as songs from the movie.

The theatre is looking for young talent (aged 10-15) who can sing, act and dance, as well as three young performers who can also play an instrument (piano/keyboard, bass/cello, rock, and acoustic guitar). There are also adult roles available for performers 20+.

Principal and supporting cast roles for adults are also being cast including the lead roles of ‘Dewey Finn’ and ‘Rosalie Mullins’.

SCHOOL OF ROCK will be performed from Wed 23 – Sat 26 August 2023.
