Coronation weekend celebrations in Havering
Plans are well underway for a memorable weekend to mark the King’s Coronation in Havering.

From Friday 5 May to Sunday 7 May, residents will be able to gather together to mark the momentous occasion.

On Friday 5 May, there will be a variety of voluntary and community organisations and charities set up outside Havering Town Hall at The Volunteer Market Place event to coincide with ‘The Big Help Out’ which is part of The King’s Coronation legacy and is aimed at getting people involved in making a change within their own communities.

On Saturday 6 May, from 10am until 6pm, Romford Business Improvement District (BID) will be hosting the ‘Big Tea Party’ including a live screening of King Charles III Coronation in Market Place, Romford (by Tollgate House) with live performances, children’s entertainment and games.

Havering Music School and Music Youth are presenting a community concert and picnic at Raphael Park on Sunday 7 May 2023 from 12pm to 5pm.

The free community concert will see young musicians from local primary and secondary schools, children’s orchestras and bands, adult orchestras and solo artists all performing on Raphael Park’s Bandstand.

The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Trevor McKeever, said:

“The King’s Coronation promises to be a special occasion that should not be missed.

“I’m looking forward to everyone in Havering coming together to enjoy the celebrations and festivities, whether it’s at a street party with neighbours, or at one of our many community events.”
