Walking into the Queen’s Theatre there’s always a special atmosphere at this time of year.  The buzzy-ness of children and family the tree and lights and the Queen’s Theatre always makes our seats and the stages as colourful as possible, with a wonderful welcome from the staff making the night soo magical….. Then it all starts.

Sleeping Beauty is one of my favourite pantomimes and this visit did not disappoint. I loved that it had the traditional pantomime jokes and audience participation and even though I might know the story it still has exciting new tricks.

Their were many different backgrounds that made the night even more exciting and easy to understand different occasion, whether this was the dark Forest or the colourful 18th birthday party.  Of course the costumes where funny.  Especially the Dame (Called Super Nanny) who got bigger and more colourful throughout the night

There were all sorts of live music, all aimed at the whole family and of course the whole cast were musications (as is always the case at The Queen’s Theatre) and I enjoyed watching them play on the stage, with the whole night involving the actors mixing instruments and acting .

The story line had many interesting twists and turns with a huge mix of Robort of the future and special affect aliens.  My 10 year old said she enjoyed how they weren’t to afraid ignore the Princess stereotype and show how brave and clever a princess can be.

Overall the Queen’s Theatre has done another fantastic show, which will appeal to all ages.
