This week on Tuesday and Wednesday, Forestry England and National Highways will be hosting public drop-in days at Hole Farm in Warley, Essex offering tours of the site with opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ideas about the designs for the proposed new community woodland.

In 2021 National Highways bought Hole Farm, a 95 hectare arable site in Great Warley near Brentwood, Essex. It sits alongside the M25 at the northern end of the proposed Lower Thames Crossing.

Hole Farm: Woodland creation drop-in days

Forestry England and National Highways will be hosting public drop-in days at Hole Farm (Warley, Essex), offering tours of the site with opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ideas about the designs for the proposed new community woodland.

Dates: Tuesday 10 May and Wednesday 11 May.

Tour times: 12pm, 3pm, 5:30pm

Meeting location: The car park of Forestry England’s Folkes Lane Woodland, Upminster, Essex, RM14 1TH.
This location is also accessible via a 30-minute walk from Pages Wood.

  • Each tour can accommodate up to 20 people on a first-come first-served basis.
  • Please arrive in good time and wear sensible footwear.
  • Please note there are no toilet or refreshment facilities onsite presently.
  • If you would like to review the draft design without attending a tour, you are more than welcome.
  • The site has a public footpath running through it so you can have a walk and then share your thoughts with our team members who will be on hand to speak with you.
