Free Christmas attractions will return to Romford Market this year, for all the family to enjoy every day from Wednesday 15 December to Friday 24 December.

The historic Romford Market, for which a charter was granted by King Henry III in 1247, will be extending its hours in the run-up to Christmas to make it easier to pick up Christmas decorations, gift bargains and everyday essentials including fruit, veg, fish and meat.  The market will be open every day from Friday 10 December to Friday 24 December.

The free attractions will be open every day from Wednesday 15 December to Friday 24 December.

The Council is also providing free parking in all Council car parks at weekends from 27 November 2021 until 2 January 2022.

This is to help support local businesses in our High Streets and town centres in the run-up to Christmas and over the festive period.

This is in addition to the free parking on Sundays already in place, which will continue.

Councillor Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, said:

“The Market Place has long been the heart and soul of Romford town centre and is a proud part of Havering’s heritage.

“I hope that the extended trading hours, free entertainment, fun activities and free weekend parking will encourage everyone to come along and show their support for our Market and to really get into the festive spirit.”
