Names include:

Emerson Carter Park – In 1895 William Carter, of Parkstone, Dorset, bought 20 acres of Nelmes Manor and Lee Garden Manor to build ‘country villas. It was named after his eldest child Emerson

King Harold Wood – Named after King Harold Godwinson, who was defeated by William the Conqueror in 1066.

Church with Pointy Gables – Lots of people assume Hornchurch was named after the Horns on the church, but it’s possible these appeared after the well known name

Elm Farm – Named after the farm that is now the location of Elm Park
