Sitting in the dark Queen’s Theatre before it all begins, with loud party music playing, there’s not much of the stage to see, a bit of trash on the floor and simply a chair. I don’t know if I’m meant to sit and wait or get up and dance as the party takes place and then the curtains raise and the show begins.

It feels less like a show and more like your there at the party watching the relationship develop. Amanda Ryan, best known for her role on Channel 4’s Shameless as Sgt. Carrie Roger, plays the seductive Laura The apprehensive Danny played by Simon Darwen, who appeared in The Bletchley Circle, Silent Witness and the BBC’s Call the Midwife, is a fantastic character who brings lot of questions to the fact that a woman is trying to have sex with him, while causing us to laugh throughout most of the night

The characters of Laura and Danny seem soo far apart but also seem soo close and I don’t want to spoil any of this for you, but Danny obviously fancies Laura despite resisting her approaches towards him. The show does not have an intermission and this allows the whole night to play in real time as his resistance includes cleaning up and dancing and this certainly helps the real-time show to make the audience feel like we are guests to the party overhearing a man and woman discuss their possible relationship at the end of the night.

The scenery was really good and even contained a working kitchen, I would truly think I was in an actual flat if it wasn’t for the many theatre seats right in front of me

It’s certainly a show that will make you laugh throughout the night and will them along in their relationships. It will also leave you with lots to discuss with your friends at the end of the night and I would definitely recommend it for a girl’s/lads night out or to take your wife/girlfriend on a night out
