Walking into the Hornchurch Heritage Centre takes me back, previously I worked at St George’s Hospital and at the time I’d taken the chance to look around this very unused site.

But since then the site has now been transformed looking back into the times that it was used as an airfield in the second and first world wars and for only £5 you can take a look around this site

It’s a small museum with a simple upstairs and downstairs layout but it certainly uses all the space it can and I’m guaranteeing it will keep you looking

I took my two daughters and I was sad to say that my 5 year old daughter was not that impressed but my 9 year old was looking at all the posters and history, with great interest

I certainly recommend taking a look at this new museum in our area,

It’s easy to get to as it’s a short walk from the Hornchurch tube station or catch the 252/256 bus .
